Breakthroughs Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) initial phase begins with 20 days of coming to treatment Monday thru Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. We also have Night Program clients that attend Monday thru Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. This is followed by a second phase of Aftercare group once per week and stepped up individual and family therapy. Our Intensive Outpatient In the first 20-day period, our Intensive Outpatient substance abuse treatment plan has the client being taught about the disease of addiction and given numerous tools to deal with the solution to the disease. Assignments are given slowly as the client becomes more stable from the use of mind altering substances. They will then begin to learn how to strengthen a network of support through improving relationships with family and friends as well a meeting new people who are walking the path of Recovery. Additionally, it is important learn healthier patterns of thinking as a part of this change. Evidence based treatments like cognitive behavior therapy are integral parts of how people begin to have positive outcomes in their lives. Breakthroughs recognizes the strong need for family involvement whenever possible and provides family group each week in both the Day and Night Program. In addition, Breakthroughs’ Jacksonville counselors are trained to treat the dual diagnosed client. This means someone who may be suffering from a behavioral or mood disorder along with the chemical dependence disorder. Our Jacksonville counselors will make appropriate referrals for medications to treat both the behavior/mood problem and the substance dependence problem. For out of town individuals wanting to attend our substance abuse treatment plan at Breakthroughs’ Jacksonville drug rehab and mental health center, we have strong ties with a group home that can provide housing while in treatment. We can assist you in finding transportation to and from your chemical addiction treatment.
