She has been the Clinical Director of Breakthroughs since it's inception in 1993. Her specialties include addictions treatment for adolescents, adults, and their families. She also treats a wide range of issues including trauma, gay and lesbian issues, women's issues, and couple's needs. She is married with 2 grown children, a precious baby granddaughter, and hobbies include biking, hiking, geocaching.Tony Fiser, LCSW, CAP, Executive Director Tony Fiser is a licensed clinical social worker and certified addictions professional. He has been practicing in the field of mental health and addictions for 25 years. He graduated from the University of Louisville and came to Jacksonville in 1986. His specialties include addictions recovery with both adolescents and adults, family therapy and treatment for trauma. His specialized training includes: family therapy, hypnotherapy, neuro-linguistic programming, Level II EMDR and critical incident debriefing. He has two children and his hobbies include fishing, hiking and painting.Bob Buscemi, M.E.D. LMHC Robert Buscemi is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with 18 years of experience within the Behavioral Health and Substance Abuse fields. Bob has been associated with Breakthroughs: Counseling & Recovery in the Mandarin area of Jacksonville since 2000. Bob's areas of expertise provide individual and family counseling to a diverse range of clientele. Bob specializes in Addictions, Adolescent therapy, Anxiety, Trauma (death, life changes, grief, and divorce), Stress Management, Marriage therapy, Depression, Compulsion, Identity Issues, and Blended Family issues. Luann has her Bachelor of Science degree and her Master’s of the Arts degree in Psychology, both from University of South Carolina. Luann has expert experience as a recognized expert witness in the areas of children and family issues and assault in the Courts of the Fourth Judicial District of the State of Florida. Luann, LMFT, specializes in children 6 and older, family issues, depression, sexual abuse/victims of crime, marital issues, blended families, transitional issues, gay/lesbian issues, military families, but no substance abuse issues. Anthony "Britt" Britton, BS, CAP Anthony "Britt" Britton who facilitates the evening Intensive Out Patient Substance Abuse Program (IOP) has more than 25 years of leadership, building successful addiction treatment programs. He has conducted professional workshops for therapists on numerous topics throughout the United States. His vision, expertise and passion have resulted in the development of highly successful treatment programs.He has experience as the Senior Program Administrator at Gateway Services in Duval County for eight years. Prior to this he served as a Internationally Certified Counselor for the United States Air Force for approximately 16 of his 20 years of service.Britt is no stranger to the ongoing challenges facing practitioners in both the addiction and mental health treatment industries. For over 26 years he has provided services to the recovering community globally. He is Nationally and Internationally Certified in Addictions Counseling and is a Certified Pastoral Counselor. He currently works at Breakthroughs as the night therapist for our IOP program.Clarence "Gene" Bilbray, LMHC,CAP Gene Bilbray is a licensed mental health counselor and certified addictions professional with fourteen years of experience. Gene has been associated with Breakthroughs as a part time therapist since 2002. Gene also has a Florida professional teaching certificate in guidance and counseling which he currently uses as a full time guidance counselor at Ed White High School. Gene provides counseling to individuals and families to a diverse range of clientele. Gene specializes in addictions, adolescent therapy, depression, anger, and anxiety issues, marriage and family issues, trauma, and issues of spirituality and faith. Gene is married with two children and enjoys coaching softball, watching movies, and camping.
Mia J. Sell, RN, LMHC Mia is a native Floridian, but grew up in a career Navy family. She lived and worked in many exotic and interesting places throughout the globe. She graduated from Rollins College in Fine Arts/Psychology, has a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology and is licensed as a LMHC and RN in the State of Florida. She combines expertise in general practice and health management. Her clinical experience in chemical dependency, eating disorders, couple's/marital counseling, women's issues, adolescent work and employment/career concerns gives her a broad range in which to assist individuals in their life struggles and growth. She has advanced work in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprogramming), trauma specialty and is also certified in clinical supervision. Candace Perkins, LCSW Candace Perkins, LCSW, has been practicing in the Jacksonville community since 1982. A graduate of Florida State University, she began counseling at Family Counseling Service and has since been in private practice, developing specialties in grief counseling, blended families, depression, and other mood disorders. She has had association with various psychiatrists and therefore has an awareness and sensitivity to people who may take or require medications prescribed by their doctor. She has also worked with members of clergy, so has an understanding of the unique challenges of this profession. She brings compassion to her work that allows clients to engage more fully in the therapeutic relationship and achieve their goals of therapy.
